Discover Sri-Lanka with Sri-Lanka In Style

Setting foot on the shores of Sri Lanka, a sense of anticipation mingled with the warm tropical air. This teardrop-shaped island held promises of breathtaking landscapes and a tapestry of rich cultural experiences. Already, we knew the journey would unfold into an unforgettable adventure.

From the bustling streets of Colombo to the tranquil tea plantations of the Hill Country, each destination revealed a different facet of Sri Lanka’s allure. Our journey began amidst the vibrant streets of Colombo, seeking solace at The Wallawwa, a hidden gem in the bustling city. The first sip of icy papaya juice was a welcome refreshment after our travels. The fragrant gardens and inviting pool became our personal oasis, recharging our batteries before we delved deeper into this incredible island.
Leaving the city behind, we embarked on a journey through winding roads, surrounded by endless expanses of emerald green tea plantations. Ceylon Tea Trails, Dunkeld, took us back in time to a world of colonial elegance. Days were spent immersing ourselves in the captivating history of Ceylon, wandering through manicured plantations, and savouring the flavours of freshly brewed tea. The infinity pool, overlooking undulating hills, became a favourite afternoon spot, where breathtaking vistas captivated us. At dawn, we witnessed the tea pickers rising, their resilience and skill akin to fearless warriors.
Next, we ventured to Yala National Park, a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. Chena Huts by Uga Escapes merged rustic luxury seamlessly with the untamed wilderness. With the rhythmic crashing of waves from the nearby coastline, we were reminded of our proximity to Sri Lanka’s wild heart. From the moment we set foot on safari, a world of wonders unfolded before our eyes. The thrill of spotting elusive leopards prowling through the undergrowth, witnessing herds of majestic elephants in their natural habitat, and being serenaded by the melodies of exotic birdlife was beyond words. Nature’s grand spectacle unfolded before our eyes.
Weligama’s tranquility and pristine beaches awaited. Cape Weligama, perched on a headland, spoiled us with breathtaking sea views and sunsets. Biking through rice paddies and cinnamon fields, we arrived at a wattle-and-daub hut. With a local chef’s guidance, we learned the art of Sri Lankan curries, savouring the flavours the local way—on banana leaves, using our right hands.
Before our adventure neared its end, we made our way to Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that stood as a testament to Sri Lanka’s colonial history. The ancient city walls whispered stories of times gone by. Our accommodation at Fort Bazaar exuded charm, blending old-world architecture with modern comforts. We soaked up the local culture, indulged in mouthwatering cuisine, and soaked in the vibrant energy of the fort.

Farewells came too soon. Sri Lanka’s wild beaches, verdant tea fields, vibrant wildlife, and warm hospitality left an imprint on our souls, reminding us to embrace the world’s diversity and find meaning in the connections we forge along the way.
